Extraordinary Situation Proclaimed in Riverside and Shasta Counties

On July 26, 2018, Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. proclaimed a state of emergency in Riverside and Shasta Counties due to the effects of the Cranston and Carr fires which have damaged structures and infrastructure and threatened homes. Consequently, Commissioner of Business Oversight Jan Lynn Owen has determined that an extraordinary situation exists in Riverside and Shasta Counties and has issued a proclamation authorizing state-chartered banks to close any or all of their offices in affected areas until the Commissioner determines the extraordinary condition has ended.
