GOO Market LLC – Transaction Record (Fraudulent Platform)

A California resident reports about a family member who was contacted by a stranger on their cell phone and ended up engaging in conversation on WhatsApp. At some point, the stranger introduced the victim to the crypto asset trading platform, Goomarket LLC, at https://goomarketllc.info. The stranger convinced the victim to open an account on the platform and deposit funds to begin trading. Over time, the victim was led to believe they earned $5.3 million on the platform. But when the victim attempted to withdraw funds, the platform demanded they pay a tax before they could do so. The victim paid the tax, but when they attempted to withdraw funds, the platform said their request was halted due to suspicions of money laundering and demanded more money to clear up this issue. The victim has been unable to access their funds and the website is no longer operational. All told the victim lost more than $540,000.
