Who we are

The Office of Public Affairs supports and empowers consumers to take control of their financial futures. We tell stories that illustrate the DFPI’s work to protect consumers and develop partnerships to meet consumers where they live and work. We communicate to maintain a fair, healthy, and trusted financial services marketplace for all Californians.

What we do

We connect with consumers online and in communities statewide to educate them on important topics such as protecting themselves from frauds and scams, investing, home buying, and banking. From warnings about the latest scams to breaking news on investigations and enforcement actions to sharing exciting grant opportunities for community-based organizations, our work represents the breadth of DFPI’s efforts as California’s financial watchdog.

We are passionate about our work supporting California consumers, community-based organizations, and the financial services industry.
