The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has received reports of entities using the names CCG & Associates and EZ Loan posing as debt collectors and contacting consumers. These entities are not licensed by the DFPI and are not affiliated with CCG Continental Commercial Group, a licensed debt collector.
Consumers have reported making payments to these entities under the mistaken belief that they were dealing with CCG Continental Commercial Group.
Consumers should exercise caution when responding to debt collection communications. Do not provide personal, financial, or transaction information to any entity without first verifying that it is licensed and that it is who it claims to be. Before sending money or sharing sensitive information, confirm a company’s license through the DFPI’s official website. Suspicious websites or contacts should be reported to the DFPI immediately.
