The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has received information that two WhatsApp investment groups, Freckie Capital and FRK Strategic Partner VIP3, are falsely posing as licensed broker-dealers, and convincing consumers to download the software application Bosonic (“App”). Please be advised that neither the WhatsApp investment groups nor the App is associated with any licensed investment adviser or broker-dealer in California.
The imposters are potentially posing as affiliates of Bosonic Securities, LLC, a California registered broker-dealer firm (CRD# 317012) with its home office based in South Dakota. Bosonic Securities, LLC is not associated with the WhatsApp investment groups or the App.
DFPI urges consumers to exercise extreme caution before responding to any solicitation offering investment or financial services. To verify whether an investment or financial service provider is licensed in California, or to submit a complaint, visit dfpi.ca.gov or call 1-866-275-2677.
