On Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 10 a.m. in Los Angeles, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D–CA 43rd District), the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, will host a town hall on access to banking products and services. This town hall will consist of three panels featuring the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Rohit Chopra; several senior bank executives; and local stakeholders. During the town hall, community members will hear from panelists and get the opportunity to ask questions about access to mortgage loans, small business loans, and other banking products and services, as well as consumer protections and resources available to consumers when they have a question or problem with a financial product or service. The DFPI will also be hosting a resource table at this event.
