News and Updates
The DFPI has reached a $2.3 million settlement with former mortgage lender and servicer Caliber Home Loans, Inc. (Caliber), following findings that the company overcharged thousands of California borrowers, in violation of state financial regulations.
The DFPI and five other state financial regulatory agencies have taken action against Wise US, Inc. (Wise) for violations of Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws under the Countering the Financing of Terrorism Program (“AML/CFT Program”).
The DFPI has reached an agreement with Texas-based Restitution Brands LLC stemming from the sale of carbon credits to California consumers who were not informed that the company took a significant portion of their carbon credit purchase in hidden markups.
