Description

A California resident reports they met someone on Facebook and began a romantic relationship. At some point, the romantic partner mentioned they knew a professional analyst who provided guaranteed trading signals and asked the victim to join an crypto options trading platform operating at capitalcrypto.net. After the victim lost a small initial deposit, the romantic partner offered to cover the loss and encouraged the victim to deposit more funds.

The victim deposited more funds, and at some point, believed they had earned approximately $300,000. But when the victim tried to withdraw some funds, the platform blocked the request and demanded they pay a fee and deposit additional funds. The victim took out a loan to meet these demands. However, the website shut down, and the victim has been unable to recover any of their funds. All told, they lost more than $100,000 on the platform.
