Imposter Posing as DBO Licensee Benchmark Mortgage & Branch Manager Cory DePass

The Department of Business Oversight (DBO) has been notified that an individual using the phone number 650-735-2112 and email address corey.benchmark@gmail.com is representing himself as a licensed representative of the licensed lender “Benchmark Mortgage,” a DBA of Ark-La-Tex Financial Services.  Cory DePass is the licensed branch manager of the Benchmark Mortgage branch in Aliso Viejo, California.  The imposter answers the phone as “Cory DePass, Benchmark,” but spells “Corey” with an “e” in his email address. This unlicensed individual should not be confused with the DBO-licensed Benchmark Mortgage, its parent company Ark-La-Tex Financial Services, or licensed Branch Manager Cory DePass.

The DBO urges consumers to exercise extreme caution before responding to any solicitation promoting loans or other offers. To check whether a California financial service provider is licensed in California, or to file a complaint, consumers should go to the DBO website at www.dbo.ca.gov or call 1-866-275-2677.”
