The DFPI Language Access Plan (LAP) is designed to set clear guidelines for language access in alignment with state and federal laws. Its goal is to ensure that all individuals in California receive language and communication services that are both culturally and linguistically appropriate, promoting equal and meaningful access. The LAP also details key information, requirements, and action steps for DFPI to support individuals with limited English Proficiency, including those with disabilities, by providing services in their primary language and in accessible formats.

The DFPI is in the process of translating the LAP to the following languages:

  • Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Korean
  • Spanish
  • Tagalog
